About

I am a 33-year-old, Midwest-raised, virologist & physician-scientist. My research attempts to better understand the molecular mechanisms of innate immunity during viral infections. I have a long-term interest in studying viral oncogenesis and how virus-mediated DNA damage affects immune regulation and cancer progression.

In my free time, I enjoy baking/fermenting, solving guessing at NYT crosswords, MapleStory, hiking/camping, and classical music. I am also particuarly passionate about K-12 teaching in STEM subjects. My favorite beer is Indeed Mexican Honey and my favorite style of wine is Vinho Verde.
